As President and founding principal of Cardwell Companies, John Cardwell's primary responsibilities are investment selection, and strategic planning. Mr. Cardwell graduated with a BA from Rice University in Houston, Texas in 1973. His investment experience includes apartments, hotels, office, shopping centers, power centers, restaurants, industrial buildings, and development opportunities. Mr. Cardwell is also the Managing Broker of Commercial Realty One, a full-service commercial real estate company, and the leading commercial brokerage firm in the Decatur, Illinois area. For the past 30 years he has advised his clients on the acquisition of commercial investment properties in Decatur and Central Illinois counties. During that period, he facilitated sales and leases totaling over $200 million. John is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, focusing on acquisitions, investment analysis, financing, due diligence, leasing, and disposition. Mr. Cardwell's 34 years of diverse, hands-on experience in acquisitions, syndications, property management, construction, development, and asset management brings the knowledge and ability essential to running a successful Commercial real estate company. Prior to founding Cardwell Companies, Mr. Cardwell was associated with Citizen National Bank of Decatur, Illinois as the Property Trust Officer responsible for sales, leasing and property management of all real estate trust and investment properties. Mr. Cardwell's vast knowledge of construction was nurtured from his employment with one of the top Architectural firms in the country, CRS/ CM Associates in Houston, Texas as Construction Manager on multi-million dollar of projects.
